Gaia-Wind turbines are specifically designed to optimise energy production in moderate wind speed areas, i.e. those having an annual average wind speed between 4.5 and 7.0 m/s. This is different from almost all other small wind turbines, which are designed with prime wind sites in mind and as such require exposed coastal areas or windy hilltops to perform at their best.

Our 133-11kw wind turbine produces an energy yield ideally suited to farms, large residences, offices, small businesses and public buildings - reducing energy costs and the consumption of electricity supplied by utility companies. The turbine’s oversized rotor allows it to capture up to 80% more energy than other similarly rated machines. This significantly enhances project economics and maximizes the return on investment. Being grid connected, our wind turbines also enable customers to sell back any surplus energy.

In recent independent tests, conducted by the US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, to measure estimated annual electricity output the Gaia-Wind turbine outperformed its nearest competitor by a factor of more than 2 to 1. This result validates the value proposition that Gaia Wind is the ‘best performing small wind turbine in moderate wind speed areas’.

Gaia-Wind is also the only small wind turbine in the world to have achieved the Danish HB certification standards, complying with rigorous quality, safety and performance requirements.
